Final results for Sailing Southwest Series 2025/6
It has been a season of all extremes as I guess might be expected from a inter in the Southwest! Having kicked off back in November last year with the Wrecker at NDYC with a decent breeze cats dominated to places but the first monohulls were Ben Pascoe crewed by his father Sam in a 2000 in 5th overall and Alan Harris-Guerrero in 6th. The results with only 1 round left are in. porthpean SC are out in front with Alan Harris Guerrero in first place with Stacy Bray holding 2nd from Chris Dyer from NDYC. All top 3 places are dominated by Blazes and an ILCA in 4th sailed by Phil Bevan While Alan is clear ahead he can be caught but 2-4 are separated by 1 point. See you all at Plymouth for

Plymouth Pounder postponed - New date for Event and Prize Giving

Results after Roadford
With 2 events to go and 3 events cancelled the series looks like 6 events with 3 to count. Roadford Rocket Provisional results
The Roadford Rocket promised F4-6 westerlies but turned out to be F2-4 with rain, sun, wind and almost anything the weather could do. The racing was organised into 2 off 60min pursuit races allowing the RO opportunities to cancel a race if the weather came is as promised. race 1 got underway on time at 1130 with light breezes and 30 min laps. SSW Winter Series Results so far
The start of 2026 has been difficult to say the least with some parts of the comntry seeing nothing but storms followed by no wind and rain every day! We saw 3 events before Christmas all completed on schedule but 2026 has sen the Steamer abandoned with high winds and the Icicle cancelled due to no wind. Next is the Rocket at Roadford and the Plymouth Pounder at Hooe Point but the Porthpean

NEW EVENTS CONFIRMED
We are pleased to finalise the series with 9 events running over the winter months. Haveing completed a record visitor levels for the Wrecker we are looking forward to the Christmas Cracker at Paignton on the 30th November. In December on the 14th we welcome Castle Cove to the series. The event will comprise 2 handicap races back to back with both to count for the day. Looking forward

Wrecker Results
The Wrecker produced a stunning opening event to the series sailed in the Taw Torridge Estuary off Instow, hosted by North Devon Yacht Club. Sailed in F4 gusting 6 westerly wind and a longer course into the estuary the event challenged all and some big grins coming home. The event had saw 38 competitors afloat with an event record 22 visitors. This was possibly boosted by the event being free to enter.

2025/6 Series Announced
Sailing Southwest is pleased to announce the 9th SW Winter Series commencing in November with the North Devon yacht Club Wrecker at instow on the North Devon coast. The series will take competitors from North Devon to the Cornish and Devon south coasts, and to inland waters in Somerset and Devon. Up to 10 events will be planned over the winter with competitors having to sail in 50% (rounded up) to qualify for

Sutton Bingham results are in
Castle Cove dominate with Simon Hawks winning in his K1 and Benjamin Pascoe in second place in a 2000. Ian Jay took third ahead of the 2 Fireflys of Angus Cook and Jono Pank. Overall with 4 races completed and 2 to count that shakes up the standings. Check out overall results here.
